For dance studios and teachers

A simple studio taping policy

  • An adult tapes younger dancers and checks the skin afterwards.
  • Tape never makes a fresh injury safe to dance on. Swelling, a limp or a pop means sit out and get it checked.
  • Pain that changes how a dancer moves needs a dance physio, not more tape.
  • Never tape over open blisters or split skin. Take tape off if it itches, burns, tingles or the skin reddens.

Stock the studio

Print the Dance Edition for the first-aid kit and backstage, and keep beige, light pink and black rolls, finger tape and scissors on the shelf.

Studios get special pricing through the Club & Studio Program: buy for the studio, or stock tape for your dancers.

When to see a dance physio

See a physio before taping if you heard a pop, can't rise onto demi-pointe or take weight, have swelling, bruising, numbness or night pain, or the same spot keeps hurting week after week. Find a physio near you on SportClinicFinder.
