don't let anything hold you back from your best

As medical professionals we are always looking for ways to stay current and to bring the best to our patients. With that in mind we are launching a series of seminars for Kinesiology taping and Blood Flow Restrictions. See our class listing HERE!

Geeks are hackers - people who like to find the best, most efficient way to do something. This 1-day seminar will have you kinesiology taping your way around the human body like a professional TapeGeek!

The seminar is a blend of theory and practical application and is designed to give the manual practitioner (or athletic hacker) a better understanding of how to integrate taping into a clinical practice.

Course Objectives:

  • To understand the current thought processes surrounding the use of kinesiology tape in a manual therapy practice
  • A review of regional anatomy for the body regions discussed and/or taped
  • A review of the current physiology, pathology and thought processes around pain, injury and disease
  • The current evidence and research around the use of kinesiology tape in a manual therapy practice as it pertains to pain, swelling, fatigue, strength and power
  • Commonly used taping applications to help manage patient presentations including: pain, swelling, scarring, biofeedback, movement, fascial stiffness

Top 10 taping protocols

A search of for “kinesiology tape knee” produces 54,000 results, "kinesiology tape shoulder" 46,000 results and "kinesiology tape ankle" 36,000 results.

Clearly, there is no shortage of examples for the viewer but in reviewing thousands of these demonstrations, there were few that we found to be concise, accurate and easy to understand.

With that in mind, we have created our top Ten kinesiology taping protocols.

For each selected body part you will find:

  • A pictorial sequence of the most successful taping protocol for a major area of potential injury/complaint. If you understand application basics, then these stepwise photos will offer a great starting point.
  • A good video example for kinesiology tape
  • A good video example for biomechanical taping. Most of the videos are from the developer of this brand and being a clinician, he goes into great detail using medical terminology. Don’t be thrown by this if you are a non-medical viewer. His protocols are very good…just watch where he puts the tape.
